The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Mary Ann Simon

Artist Biography

Mary Ann Simon has been juried into national competitions and has signature membership in Transparent Watercolor Society. She has also been juried into Wisconsin Watercolor Society, Wisconsin Visual Artists (professional membership), Madison Watercolor Society, Madison Art Guild and is a member of Artistic Women on Location. Mary Ann majored in art at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and Madison Area Technical College and has taken numerous workshops nationally. She paints in water media on location and in her studio.
