The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Vicky Lilla

Vicky Lilla is a Wisconsin-based watercolor artist whose work is inspired by the landscapes, rural architecture, and wildlife of the Midwest. Drawing from her own sketches and photographs, she creates paintings that balance realism with the fluid, luminous qualities of watercolor. Through thoughtful composition, rich color, and expressive texture, Lilla explores themes of reflection, transparency, and atmosphere, capturing the unique character and spirit of the region she calls home.
