The Wisconsin Watercolor Society was founded in 1952 by a group of Wisconsin artists. It was the first Wisconsin art organization to be devoted exclusively to watercolor painting. Its purpose now as then has always been to demonstrate and exhibit meaningful development in the medium of watercolor and to serve as a catalyst for those genuinely interested in watercolor.

Artist Biography

I have been a professional artist for over 30 years, receiving my formal education from the American Academy of Art and The Academy of Fine Art.

I have taught for colleges, high schools and elementary school and often jury local, national and international art exhibitions.  I ran a private Art Academy for 8 years that was internationally recognized as only one of  75 schools worldwide accredited through The Art Renewal Center.

My work has been included in national and international exhibitions and can be found in private collections in the States and Australia.

At this time in the studio,  my concentration is focused on creating a new body of work, painting commissions, working with ceramics and illustrating books and book covers.

My studio is located in a historical 1909 flour mill that I have renovated into 3 floors of space. Within this space, I have a classroom, gallery and store along with ceramics and painting studios.

I enjoy hosting two sales a year that consist of over 60 artisans where these sales give the local artists an opportunity to showcase their works and it allows me to interact with the customers and art appreciators.

Creating art is a gift from God that I take very seriously. I love to use my gifts to create beautiful works and I do my best to share my knowledge with others through teaching and exhibitions.
